$140M verdict can’t stand, landlord argues after tenant’s fiery death

Bondurant partner Naveen Ramachandrappa, along with trial counsel Jeff Shiver and Darrell Hinson at Shiver Hamilton Campbell, continues representing the family of a 63-year-old tenant who died in a 2017 Atlanta apartment fire.
The landlord is asking the Georgia Court of Appeals to overturn the $140 million verdict, claiming the fire, set in retaliation, was not foreseeable.
In court recently, Naveen argued that the case is not about arson but the landlord’s failure to provide basic fire safety.
