Robbie is an associate who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in various matters in both state and federal courts.
Robbie has over a decade of experience assisting clients with issues involving politics, governments and governmental authorities throughout Georgia, particularly the City of Atlanta, metro Atlanta governments and the Georgia General Assembly. Robbie’s government and political experiences include:
- Negotiating transfers of government assets worth tens of million of dollars;
- Successfully supervising a team of governmental finance experts and attorneys evaluating, negotiating, and implementing:
- Local government procurement codes, advising on and navigating procurement issues, and resolving procurement disputes;
- Redevelopment powers for local governments, including condemnation and bonded indebtedness;
- Issuance of commercial paper by local government enterprise funds;
- Amending, interpreting and complying with Georgia’s Open Records Act;
- Sales taxes;
- Local government ethics issues;
- Campaign finance issues;
- Development impact fees;
- Liquor licenses, investigations and disciplinary hearings; and
- Property tax assessments, exemptions and appeals.
- Planning and executing a multi-year public communications & advocacy campaign resulting in a successful multi-billion dollar sales tax referendum;
- Negotiating legislation consolidating Atlanta’s court system; and
- Advising election and re-election campaigns of the two most recent Atlanta Mayors, several members of the Atlanta City Council and Atlanta Public School Board, and numerous Georgia General Assembly members.
Prior to joining the firm, Robbie worked for Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Carol Hunstein and Georgia Court of Appeals Chief Judge Anne Barnes. In addition, he worked as the Intergovernmental Affairs Manager for the City of Atlanta in Mayor Shirley Franklin's office, and, most recently, as the Senior Policy Director for current Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed's 2009 campaign.
He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, where he was a Presidential Scholar, and his J.D. from Georgia State University. While attending law school, Robbie was a Legislative Editor for the Georgia State Law Review and served as a Board Member for GSU’s Moot Court Team.
Robbie is a Founder and Board Member of Red Clay Democrats, a Member of the Advisory Committee for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, a Board Member and Secretary of the Woodward Academy Alumni Association, a Member of the American Constitution Society, a Marshall Memorial Fellow and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, Class of 2006.
